Israeli Reservists on the Front Lines

A few days after the war began, I went to see an Israeli reservists unit stationed right outside Gaza. The testimonies from the soldiers give a unique glimpse into the mindset and anxiety of those who are about to face the unknown.

One of the most stunning aspects of this was the fact that these soldiers are stationed inside a kindergarten. This is because it is one of the only bombproof buildings around. It is also worth noting that many of these soldiers have children of their own. Every day, waking up and going to sleep surrounded by children's drawings, artwork and books created a surreal environment for those who would soon be facing heavy trauma.
