After the events of October 7th, entire Israeli communities were suddenly homeless. Over 200,000 were displaced. The Israeli government was nowhere to be seen. A volunteer army of civilians immediately stepped up to provide every kind of necessary social service you can think of.
This video showcases one of these volunteer efforts in action.
What is significant is that many of these initiatives were spearheaded by the leaders of the pro-democracy movement that had crisscrossed the nation prior to October 7th. The very same people who were protesting the government took charge and stepped in where the government was absent.
