On October 7, 2023, Israel's United Hatzalah first responders were among the earliest emergency services to reach the massacred communities along the border with Gaza.
Now, a month later, two of those volunteers took us back to the devastated region in their ambulance.
Over the course of the hour-long drive, they recounted the searing stories from that day as they made their way to eventually step foot inside one of the ravaged kibbutzim for the first time since the massacre. Here, they finally see the aftermath of the catastrophic day that changed their lives.
